International Civilian Gun Ownership Rates


According to the 2007 Small Arms Survey (the most recent available as of June 19, 2015), the United States has 88.8 guns per 100 people, or an average of 270,000,000). The next highest country, Yemen has an average of 11,500,000 or, 54.8 guns per 100 people. Americans own about 270,000,000 guns, about 42% of the world's civilian guns. Collectively, the citizens of the other 184 countries for which data could be gathered own about 374,008,400 guns.
